Board & Train Liability Waiver & Terms of Service
Please read carefully the below before signing your board & train waiver.
1. Program Overview
Your dog will participate in a structured Board & Train program that includes:
Routine daily care, feeding, and potty breaks
Multiple short, age-appropriate daily training sessions based on your goals
Exercise, enrichment activities, and confidence-building activities
Crate time for rest and safety
Supervised socialization when appropriate
Daily walks (or outside potty breaks based on age & vaccination status)
Exposure to real-world environments (subject to vaccination status)
Training outcomes depend on many factors, including your dog’s age, genetics, past experiences, health, and owner consistency after the program. No specific results are guaranteed.
2. Health Requirements
By enrolling, you confirm that your dog:
Is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations
Is free from contagious illnesses (kennel cough, parasites, viruses, etc.)
Is in reasonably good health and fit for training
Has not shown signs of illness within the past 48 hours
You must disclose:
Allergies or food sensitivities
Medications
Chronic conditions
Injuries or surgeries
Any symptoms of coughing, diarrhea, vomiting, or skin issues
Failure to disclose may result in early termination of the program without refund.
3. Veterinary Care & Emergencies
If your puppy becomes sick or injured, the trainer will:
Attempt to contact you and your emergency contact.
Seek veterinary care if needed.
Make reasonable decisions in the dog’s best interest.
In the event of an emergency, you agree to cover all veterinary costs, including:
Exams
Diagnostics
Treatment
Medications
Emergency or after-hours care
Transportation fees
You agree to hold the trainer harmless for illness or injury not caused by negligence.
4. Assumption of Risk
Dogs living and training in a home environment may experience:
Scratches, nicks, or minor injuries
Stress-related behaviors (diarrhea, panting, decreased appetite, whining)
Crate-related injuries (clawed paws, chipped teeth, minor abrasions)
Dog-dog conflicts during supervised interactions
Environmental hazards (city noises, weather, wildlife, scents)
Injury from ingestion of foreign objects despite supervision
Escape or attempted escape due to equipment failure or stress
You accept these inherent risks and release the trainer from liability for injury, illness, or death not caused by gross negligence.
5. Behavior Disclosure
You agree to disclose any history of:
Reactivity
Resource guarding
Aggression toward people or dogs
Puppy biting concerns
Territorial or protective behavior
Separation anxiety
Noise sensitivity
Escaping or jumping fences
Eating non-food objects
Any bite history (with or without broken skin)
Withholding behavioral information may result in immediate termination of the program without refund.
6. Socialization & Dog Interactions
Depending on temperament, vaccination status, and trainer assessment, your dog may or may not:
Interact with the trainer’s personal dogs
Interact with other client dogs
Participate in supervised play
Meet unfamiliar people
Train in public areas
All socialization decisions are at the trainer’s discretion. You acknowledge that even well-monitored dog interactions carry risk.
7. Housing, Crating, and Daily Routine
Your dog will:
Be crated for rest, sleep, structure, and safety
Have supervised outdoor potty breaks
Follow a structured training schedule
Participate in enrichment and confidence-building activities
Not have full free roam of the home
You understand and agree that:
Crate training is required for Board & Train
Some dogs experience vocalization or stress in the crate
Minor crate injuries can occur
8. Training Methods
The trainer uses:
Positive reinforcement
Reward-based training
Science-backed learning principles
Confidence-building exercises
Management strategies
Real-world exposure and socialization
Tools may include:
Flat collars
Harnesses
Long lines
Martingale collars
Crates, baby gates, pens
Muzzles (only if appropriate and discussed or necessary for safety)
No aversive tools (prong/e-collar) are used unless explicitly discussed and written consent is given.
9. Transportation
Your dog may be transported in the trainer’s vehicle for:
Training outings
Public exposure
Veterinary appointments if applicable
You acknowledge that transportation carries inherent risk and release the trainer from liability related to unforeseen accidents.
10. Payment, Cancellations, & Refunds
Payment is required 24 hours prior to drop-off.
If early pick up is needed, a pro-rated refund may be given.
If your dog becomes unsafe to train or poses a risk to humans or animals, the program may be ended early and the owner will need to find alternative accommodations within 24 hours.
You are responsible for any damage your dog causes to the trainer’s home, property, or equipment.
11. Media Release
You grant permission for the trainer to use photos or videos of your dog for:
Training updates
Social media
Website content
Marketing materials
Your personal information will never be shared!
12. Owner Responsibilities After the Program
You understand that:
Training requires consistent follow-through at home
Behavioral progress can regress without structure
You must implement the training plan provided
The trainer is not responsible for future behavior changes once the dog is home
Ongoing support may require additional sessions.
13. Liability Release
By participating in Board & Train, you agree to release and hold harmless the trainer, their household and property:
Any injury, illness, loss, or death of your dog
Any injuries or damages your dog causes to people, animals, or property
Any costs associated with veterinary care or emergencies
Any claims related to your dog’s behavior during or after training
This release applies irrespective of geographic location (trainer’s home, public spaces, training facilities, etc.).

By submitting your booking and signing the liability form sent after this page, you confirm that you:
Have read and understood all terms
Agree to all conditions
Accept all risks stated above
Confirm all information you provide is accurate
Your digital signature is legally binding.
